Organic Pomegranate seed oil cold pressed

The use of pomegranate seed oil in the cosmetics industry

In combination with base oils like our sunflower oil, pomegranate seed oil is used in formulations for mature, stressed skin as it is said to stimulate cell renewal and make the skin appear firmer. The pomegranate seed oil with its special fatty acid spectrum, including the rare fatty acid punicic acid, is said to have antioxidant effects and thus counteract premature skin aging. Especially a rich night care product that should counteract fine lines can be created with our pomegranate seed oil. Together with its characteristic aroma, it offers pleasant care for mature skin.

Interesting facts

The pomegranate tree is a relatively small tree growing up to about 5 meters tall, with reddish-brown to gray bark and almost always thorny. The Punica flowers are funnel-shaped, about 3 cm in diameter, and bright red in the wild form. The fruit, the pomegranate, is a lobed, round false berry up to 12 cm large, with tough, thick leathery reddish to brownish skin. It contains numerous seeds that have a bright red outer layer when ripe. The seeds make up about 3% of the fruit’s weight and contain approximately 12-20% pomegranate seed oil.

Because of the large number of seeds, the pomegranate was seen as a symbol of fertility but also of power. For example, the coat of arms of the Spanish city of Granada features a pomegranate.

The organic pomegranate seed oil is mechanically cold-pressed from the seeds of the pomegranate and then filtered.
