Organic Macadamia Oil Cold Pressed
The use of organic macadamia oil in the cosmetics industry
The high palmitoleic acid content is a special feature of macadamia oil. This monounsaturated fatty acid is otherwise found in such high quantities only in animal fats. The high content ensures particularly good skin compatibility of macadamia oil. It also absorbs quickly into the skin and has excellent spreadability. In moisturizers, anti-wrinkle creams, or body oils, macadamia oil is said to strengthen the lipid barrier of the skin and promote faster skin regeneration. Thanks to its natural sun protection factor, macadamia oil is a popular ingredient in sunscreens. In hair care, it is used as a substitute for mink oil, for example in anti-split-end products.
Good to know
Our organic macadamia oil is extracted from the ripe seeds of Macadamia Integrifolia/Tetraphylla by cold pressing and subsequent filtration.
Macadamia Integrifolia/Tetraphylla is an evergreen, hard-leaved tree that can grow up to 12–15 meters tall and live for over 50 years. It bears fruit for the first time after 5 years and reaches maximum yield after 10 years.
