Macis Oil

Macis Oil is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the reddish-orange husk of the nutmeg.

The nutmeg tree belongs to the family Myristicaceae and is an evergreen tree that can reach up to 18 meters. There are male and female plants. Mostly female trees are cultivated. These have ochre-colored berry-like fruits that split open. The seed inside, the nutmeg, is mostly used as a spice. The giant spice tree originally comes from the Banda Islands and the northern Moluccas. Today, they are also found in tropical Asia, South America, and Africa. Nutmeg presumably came to Europe through cruises. The spice islands were at that time the only islands where nutmeg and cloves grew. In East India, nutmeg was treated as valuable as gold.

As a room fragrance, it spreads a mood-lifting atmosphere that promotes concentration and desire.

The Macis Oil has digestive and stimulating effects.

The food industry uses Macis Oil as an alternative to nutmeg oil to refine various baked goods, syrups, drinks, and sweets, and it is also used to preserve food. In perfumery, it is especially found in strong men's fragrances.
