Organic Argan Oil unroasted Refined
The use of organic argan oil in the cosmetics industry
The use of organic argan oil, the "liquid gold of Morocco," is booming in the cosmetics industry as it is described as a valuable ingredient with moisturizing and antioxidant effects. It is said to support the natural water-lipid layer of the skin, so it can better store nutrients and thus appear plumper and smoother again.
The balanced ratio of unsaturated fatty acids and the high content of natural vitamin E are ideal ingredients for face creams, body lotions, and body oils for the care of mature but also acne-prone skin at the same time. Skin stressed by allergies and dermatoses is said to be intensively nourished by organic argan oil. Besides skin care, organic argan oil is often used in hair oils, shampoos, conditioners, and shine styling products.
Interesting facts
The argan tree is only native to southwestern Morocco between Agadir and Essaouira, where it may be used but not cut down. When the fruits of the tree are ripe, they turn bright yellow and resemble olives in shape. Each fruit contains one to three oval, smooth kernels that contain the oil-rich, almond-like seeds.
For the extraction of argan oil, typically the fallen fruits collected from June to September are used. Before extracting organic argan oil, the fruits must be shelled, the kernels split, the seed removed, and dried. Depending on the processing stage, the kernels are roasted before cold pressing.
