Organic Calendula (Marigold) Extract
The organic calendula oil extract is yellow to orange in color and is characterised by a floral, slightly bitter aroma.
In the cosmetics and personal care industry, organic calendula extract is widely used for its skin-conditioning and soothing properties. Organic calendula oil extract is particularly suitable for formulations designed for sensitive and stressed skin and is commonly used in creams, ointments, lotions, body oils, lip care products, and a wide range of other cosmetic applications. Organic calendula extract is also valued as a high-quality botanical active ingredient in natural cosmetic formulations.
For warm and harmonious fragrance profiles, organic calendula oil extract blends well with Organic Vanilla Extract and Organic Sandalwood Oil.
Our organic calendula extract is obtained by gentle ultrasonic extraction of the flowers of Calendula officinalis using organic sunflower oil as the carrier oil.
Interesting Things
Calendula is one of Europe's best-known medicinal and ornamental plants.
Its bright yellow to orange flowers usually open in the morning and close again in the evening or during poor weather conditions. This behaviour, known as nyctinasty, once made calendula a natural "flower clock."
