Organic Marigold Extract
This classic garden plant is often called the “barometer flower” because it only opens its blossoms in the morning if good weather is coming. The color of the flowers ranges from yellow to bright orange. The Marigold belongs to the Asteraceae family and can grow up to 70 cm tall. It has likely been native to Europe only since the late Middle Ages.
Today it is often found growing wild along sunny paths, fallow land, or rubble areas. It has a mild yet distinctive scent, and its flowers taste bitter and slightly salty.
Key ingredients include the strongly scented bitter compound Calenden, the carotenoid-like pigment Calendulin, spanoins, and vitamin-like substances.
The extract from the Marigold is excellent for treating particularly dry and very needy skin, such as the feet, rough elbows, knees, and extremely chapped areas. Its soothing and restorative properties are vital for stressed, heavily used, and needy skin.
