Organic Sunflower oil High-oleic and its use in the food industry
The food industry benefits from the mild taste of organic sunflower oil and uses it, for example, for producing mayonnaise, remoulade, or margarine. It is also suitable as salad oil, for baking, and marinating.
Since only certain naturally bred sunflower varieties with a very high content of monounsaturated oleic acid are used to produce Organic Sunflower oil High-oleic , it is more heat-stable than in its original linoleic acid-rich (= linoleic) form. Therefore, our Organic Sunflower oil High-oleic is ideal for frying and deep-frying. Refining the oil enhances this property even further.
If you prefer sunflower oil with a higher linoleic acid content, we will gladly supply natural or refined organic sunflower oil Linoleic.
Interesting facts
The sunflower originally comes from North America and spread further south. The Incas worshiped the sunflower as the face of God. At the end of the 16th century, it was brought to Europe by Spanish sailors.
The sunflower plant, with its rough hairy stem, grows between one and two meters high. Its bud turns towards the sunlight. During a sunny day, it follows the sun’s path from east to west. The unmistakable blooming yellow flower head usually faces consistently east.
The sunflower oil comes from the seeds, the sunflower kernels, in the flower basket. They are peeled, ground, and then gently cold pressed.
