Walnut oil and its use in the food industry

The nutritious and aromatic walnut oil is especially valued for its nutty taste and is a versatile oil that can be used in various areas of gastronomy. Walnut oil is an important source of essential nutrients including omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants (like vitamin E), and minerals such as magnesium and phosphorus.

Useful information

The walnut tree is native to Asia, Europe, and North America. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soils and is commonly found in deciduous mixed forests. The walnut tree can grow up to 10 to 25m tall. Young walnut trees have smooth, gray bark which becomes deeply fissured and dark with age.

SanaBio walnut oil is obtained from walnut kernels by mechanical cold pressing and filtration. For this process, the nuts are shelled, the kernels crushed, and the oil extracted by pressing. The resulting walnut oil is then filtered to remove unwanted substances that could affect the oil’s color and taste.
