Organic Canola Oil and its use in the food industry
The food industry often refers to Organic Canola Oil as the "olive oil of the North." From a nutritional standpoint, the fatty acid profile of Organic Canola Oil is even superior to olive oil.
Thanks to its nutty flavor and high content of unsaturated fatty acids, our SanaBio Canola Oil enhances salads, sautéed and steamed vegetables, baked goods, and even baby food. It pairs well with egg and dairy products without becoming bitter, making it a popular choice for mayonnaise and marinades. The refined version of Organic Canola Oil is ideal for high heat applications like frying and deep-frying due to its high smoke point. We offer both versions.
Did you know?
Canola plants likely originated in the eastern Mediterranean. They’ve been cultivated for their high oil content for centuries. Until the 1970s, rapeseed oil was mostly used in industrial applications because of its high erucic acid content, which was suspected to cause heart disease. With the development of the "00-rapeseed" variety, low in erucic acid, rapeseed became a vital crop for humans and animals alike.
SanaBio Canola Oil is obtained from the small, dark brown seeds of 00-rapeseed by cold pressing. The seeds are thoroughly cleaned and crushed beforehand.
