Refined, conventional walnut oil and its use in the food industry
Refined walnut oil has a milder and more neutral taste compared to its unrefined counterpart. Therefore, it is suitable for a variety of culinary uses without overpowering the flavor of dishes. Due to its mild flavor and higher smoke point compared to unrefined walnut oil, the refined version is versatile in the kitchen. It can be used for sautéing, frying, and as an ingredient in salad dressings, marinades, and dips.
Useful Information
The walnut tree is native to Asia, Europe, and North America. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soils and is commonly found in deciduous mixed forests. The walnut tree can reach a height of 10 to 25 meters. Young walnut trees have smooth, gray bark that becomes deeply fissured and dark with age.
Our refined walnut oil is typically obtained through a process where the walnuts are crushed and then pressed to extract the oil. The extracted oil is then refined to improve its quality. The refining process for conventional walnut oil includes methods such as filtering, bleaching, and deodorizing to remove impurities, color, and odors. The result is a clearer and neutral-tasting oil that is suitable for cooking at high temperatures.
