The use of organic linseed oil in the cosmetics industry
Organic linseed oil is attributed with several positive properties that are utilized in the cosmetics industry. Linseed oil is said to strengthen the natural skin barrier, support cell renewal, and thus balance the skin's moisture levels. Mature and also blemished skin are said to benefit from linseed oil in creams, body oils, anti-cellulite products, and lotions.
Good to know
The white-blue flowering flax plant has been used in many areas of life for centuries. In the Middle Ages, suits of armor and timber-framed houses were impregnated with linseed oil, and the plant stems were processed into linen.
The flax plant should not be confused with camelina. Apart from the similar sounding name, they have nothing in common botanically.
