Peppermint Oil

For a long time, peppermint has been known as a seasoning and medicinal plant. Almost everyone associates the cool, characteristic scent of the plant, which Organic Peppermint Oil also takes on, with purity and freshness.

It is precisely these cleansing properties that naturopathy values. Organic Peppermint Oil is said to be very effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and is therefore used for infections such as herpes, minor wounds, and digestive issues. It may also help counteract nausea and vomiting. The fresh scent is also said to relieve tension headaches and alleviate their debilitating effects. Combined with a carrier oil (e.g., our Almond or Rapeseed Oil), Organic Peppermint Oil may help when massaged into the temples.

During cold season, Organic Peppermint Oil is a classic. A relaxing cold bath can calm the agitated body. Inhalation with scent blends including Organic Peppermint Oil may help loosen stubborn mucus in the nasal area.

In the cosmetics industry, Organic Peppermint Oil is used especially to fragrance care products such as toothpaste, soap, or toiletries, to reinforce the common association with purity. The cooling effect of Organic Peppermint Oil can be used in refreshing sprays, sports showers, or after-sun products. During the hot summer, a spray with Organic Peppermint Oil can revive tired, swollen feet.

Chewing gum is probably the most well-known application for peppermint in the food industry, but confectionery and (alcoholic) beverages can also be flavored with Organic Peppermint Oil in small doses.

Aromatherapy also benefits from the pure, fresh scent of Organic Peppermint Oil. It is said to stimulate and dispel negative thoughts, creating a pleasant (room) climate for concentration and energy. A tip for the winter? The peppermint aroma may curb cravings for sweets.

Organic Peppermint Oil pairs well with our Bergamot Oil, Lavender Oil, Mandarin Oil, Orange Oil, Rosemary Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Thyme Oil, or our Lemon Oil. All available from us in organic quality.
