Organic Bergamot Oil
Our essential bergamot oil is less tart than lemon oil and less sweet than orange oil, giving it a distinctive fresh yet sophisticated aroma.
Bergamot is the characteristic citrus note in Earl Grey tea. It is used for flavouring of sweets, alcoholic beverages and bakery products.
Furthermore, in aromatherapy applications, bergamot oil is commonly used to promote a pleasant atmosphere and a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
Therefore, our organic lavender oil and eucalyptus oil could pair well with bergamot oil.
Organic bergamot oil is obtained by cold pressing of the outer peel of the unripe fruit of bergamot (Citrus aurantium bergamia).
Interesting things
The distinctive aroma of Earl Grey tea comes from bergamot oil applied to tea leaves. Without bergamot, Earl Grey would just be ordinary black tea.
Plus, bergamot is often called the "king of citrus oils" in perfumery. It appears in countless fragrances because it smells bright and elegant, blends well with floral, woody, spicy, and herbal notes and helps create the fresh opening ("top note") of many perfumes.
