The use of organic sesame oil in the cosmetics industry
Linoleic acid, phytosterols, and sesamol make organic sesame oil particularly attractive for the cosmetics industry in masks, creams, and hair care products. They are believed to provide intensive care, have antioxidant and circulation-promoting effects, helping to protect the skin from environmental damage and counteract premature skin aging. Additionally, organic sesame oil offers light UV protection, making it suitable for sunscreens. As organic sesame oil can penetrate the skin and especially intercellular spaces well, it is a very good base oil and also suitable as a carrier oil for other active ingredients.
Did you know?
The history of sesame is long. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks are said to have used the plant. Originally from tropical Africa, it is now primarily cultivated in India, China, and Egypt.
To produce sesame oil, the fruit capsules are dried, seeds shaken out and cleaned, before we gently cold press them.
Allergy sufferers should use sesame oil with caution, as it can cause cross-reactions with some nuts and soy.
