Organic Sesame Oil refined
The use of organic sesame oil in the cosmetics industry
Linoleic acid, phytosterols, and sesamol make organic sesame oil especially attractive for the cosmetics industry in masks, creams, and hair care products. They are said to nourish intensively, have antioxidant and circulation-promoting effects, helping protect the skin from negative environmental influences and prevent premature aging. In addition, organic sesame oil provides light UV protection, making it suitable for sunscreen oils. As organic sesame oil penetrates the skin and especially the intercellular spaces well, it is both an excellent base oil and a carrier oil for other active ingredients.
Good to know
Sesame has a long history. Even the ancient Egyptians and Greeks are said to have used the plant. Originally from the African tropics, it is now mainly cultivated in India, China, and Egypt.
To produce sesame oil, the fruit capsules are dried, the seeds shaken out and cleaned before we gently cold-press them.
Allergy sufferers should use sesame oil cautiously, as it can cause cross-reactions with some nuts and soy.
