The use of organic apricot kernel oil in the cosmetics industry

Our refined apricot kernel oil is light yellow in color and has a neutral smell and taste.

Refined apricot kernel oil is a base oil in the cosmetics industry. Due to its neutral character, it can be used in creams, soaps, and lip and hair care products. Apricot kernel oil has a light texture, spreads easily on the skin, and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. The oil has a high fatty acid content, consisting mainly of oleic acid and linoleic acid.

To extract apricot oil, the pulp is first removed, and the kernels are washed and split open. After separating the hard shell, the kernel is dried and then cold-pressed. Subsequently, the crude oil is filtered and refined.

Interesting facts

The apricot tree belongs to the rose family and probably originated in China, and reached Europe during the Roman Empire. Apricot kernel oil resembles almond oil in color and smell and is also used in the food industry. Turkey is the world leader in apricot production.

The kernels of the apricot used for producing apricot kernel oil are very hard and about three centimeters long. Inside are the softer, almond-like seeds, from which the apricot kernel oil is cold-pressed.
