The organic apricot kernel oil is a rich base oil in the cosmetics industry. Its delicate scent and caring, mild character are used in baby care, creams against dry, sensitive skin, soaps, and lip and hair care products.
It moisturizes without feeling greasy and absorbs quickly into the skin. Additionally, it is said to soothe and mildly protect sensitive skin. Due to the contained linoleic acid, organic apricot kernel oil is considered well tolerated.
Interesting facts
The apricot tree belongs to the rose family and probably came from China to Europe at the time of the Roman Empire. The apricot kernel oil reminds of almond oil in color and smell and is also used in the food industry.
The kernels of the apricot used for producing apricot kernel oil are very hard and about three centimeters long. Inside are the softer, almond-like seeds, from which the apricot kernel oil is cold pressed.
