Organic Safflower oil, linoleic, refined
Our refined organic safflower oil, rich in linoleic acid, is yellow to pale yellow in colour and has a neutral odour.
Organic refined safflower oil, rich in linoleic acid, is a versatile vegetable oil and can be used as an ingredient in creams, lotions, body oils, bath oils and other skincare products.
Organic safflower oil is obtained from cold-pressed safflower seeds. The oil is then decanted, filtered and refined. We also offer organic refined safflower oil with a high oleic acid content and cold-pressed organic safflower oil with a high linoleic acid content.
Interesting facts
The safflower's flower color resembles saffron, which explains its nickname “false saffron”. Historically, the safflower was cultivated for the red dye carthamin, while today it is primarily grown for oil production. The ancient Egyptians also used safflower’s coloring properties to dye mummy cloths.
Safflower grows quickly to a final height of up to 1.30 meters. Its leaves are thorny, and the flower resembles a small basket from which up to 150 orange-yellow tubular florets emerge.
