Organic Sunflower Oil LO, cold-pressed
Our organic sunflower oil ranges in color from light yellow to yellow and has a delicate, characteristic aroma.
Produced from selected, certified organic sunflower varieties, our organic sunflower oil with linoleic acid is widely used as a carrier oil in creams, ointments, massage oils, and other cosmetic formulations.
Organic sunflower oil is obtained by cold pressing hulled and, in some cases, ground sunflower seeds (Helianthus annuus). The oil is then filtered. We also have organic high-oleic sunflower oil and refined linoleic sunflower oil available.
Interesting things
The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is native to North America and has gradually spread southward. Among the Incas, it held symbolic significance and was revered as a representation of the sun. At the end of the 16th century, it was brought to Europe by Spanish explorers.
The sunflower plant grows to a height of one to two meters. Before blooming, its bud tracks the sun from east to west during the day, but once the flower opens, it generally remains facing east.
