The use of Organic Amaranth oil in the cosmetics industry
Our organic amaranth seed oil has a yellow color and a distinctive scent.
The cosmetics industry uses our organic amaranth oil in creams, skin and hair oils, soaps and shampoos, massage oils, decorative cosmetics, sunscreen products, and anti-aging products. Amaranth seed oil is also often used as a base oil for products intended for dry, sensitive skin, as it absorbs quickly and is said to have a moisturizing effect.
These properties are mainly attributed to the high proportion of squalene, a lipid associated with the skin, and phytosterols, which together retain moisture in the skin and are said to alleviate, to some extent, the stress associated with UV rays. In addition, organic amaranth oil is characterized by a balance of various unsaturated fatty acids.
Our organic amaranth seed oil is obtained by gently cold-pressing beige to brown amaranth seeds from certified organic crops. We also offer organic amaranth oil for the food industry.
Interesting facts
Amaranth has been cultivated for thousands of years and served as an important food source for pre-Columbian civilizations, such as the Aztecs, who valued it for its protein-rich seeds.
The plant is native to Central America and certain regions of South America and can grow to a height of over 1 meter. Its flowers range in color from red to purple and form heads containing numerous small seeds.
These seeds are used to produce our organic amaranth oil through gentle cold pressing.
