The use of organic apricot kernel oil in the cosmetics industry

Our organic apricot kernel oil has a pale yellow color and a delicate fragrance, with nutty notes and a slight hint of marzipan. Thanks to its beneficial properties, this precious oil is frequently used in skincare, lip care, and hair care products, as well as in soap formulations.

Apricot kernel oil is so valuable due to its fatty acid content (particularly oleic and linoleic acids). Known for its light texture and ability to absorb into the skin, apricot kernel oil leaves the skin soft, without any heavy or greasy residue. We also offer refined apricot oil for the cosmetics industry.

Ripe apricot kernels are used to produce the oil; after the pulp is removed, the kernels are cleaned and cracked. The seeds are separated, dried, and cold-pressed, and the oil is then filtered.

Interesting things

The apricot tree belongs to the rose family and probably came from China to Europe at the time of the Roman Empire. Apricot kernel oil resembles almond oil in color and smell and is also used in the food industry. Turkey is the world leader in apricot production.

The kernels of the apricot used for producing apricot kernel oil are very hard and about three centimeters long. Inside are the softer, almond-like seeds, from which the apricot kernel oil is cold-pressed.
