The use of organic hazelnut oil in the cosmetics industry
Refined organic hazelnut oil has a yellow color and a neutral scent.
Thanks to its light texture, good spreadability, and pleasant sensory profile, refined organic hazelnut oil is widely used in cosmetic formulations.
Refined hazelnut oil is commonly incorporated into massage oils, skincare products, lotions, creams, shampoos, and hair care products. The refining process reduces the intensity of the scent and color, making the oil more stable.
Hazelnuts are usually harvested between late August and late October, depending on the growing region. After harvesting, the hazelnuts are dried, shelled, and then cold-pressed. The resulting oil is further refined to remove impurities, resulting in a stable cosmetic ingredient. We also offer organic cold-pressed hazelnut oil for the cosmetics industry and organic food-grade hazelnut oil.
Interesting facts
Hazel trees and shrubs belong to the birch family, and their nuts are considered the only original nut variety native to Europe. Hazelnuts are believed to have spread across continental Europe around 8,000 years ago. The flowers bloom in winter and range in color from yellow to green or red. The nuts themselves contain approximately 65% vegetable oil.
