Organic broccoli seed oil, cold-pressed, for the cosmetics industry
Our organic broccoli seed oil has a golden-yellow color and a distinctive aroma.
Broccoli seed oil naturally contains a high level of erucic acid. Although erucic acid has restrictions in food applications, it is valued in cosmetic formulations due to its unique chemical structure. This allows it to mimic the properties of silicones: a fine, non-greasy, and protective texture.
Thanks to its smoothing and moisturizing properties, broccoli seed oil is frequently used in skin care products, but especially in hair care products: conditioners, hair treatments, hair serums, and styling formulas.
Our organic broccoli seed oil is obtained by cold-pressing broccoli seeds, followed by filtration.
Interesting things
Broccoli is a vegetable belonging to the cruciferous family (Brassicaceae) and is closely related to cauliflower. In both cases, the immature flower heads (broccoli florets) are typically used for culinary purposes. These are surrounded by large, silvery-green leaves that grow from the ground, forming a ring around the main stem. In the cosmetics industry, the seeds are typically used; when cold-pressed, they yield a valuable oil.
