Organic Sunflower Oil HO, refined

Refined organic sunflower oil, with a high oleic acid content, has a light yellow to yellow color and a characteristic, neutral odor.

HO refined organic sunflower oil is obtained from selected, certified organic sunflower varieties with a naturally high content of monounsaturated oleic acid. Used as a base oil in creams and ointments, refined organic sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content is valued for the pleasant sensation it imparts to the skin and for its neutral sensory profile. The oil is also suitable for cosmetic formulations intended for dry and mature skin.

Organic sunflower oil is obtained by cold-pressing the hulled and, sometimes, ground seeds of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus). The oil is then refined.

We also offer cold-pressed organic sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content and organic sunflower oil with a high linoleic acid content.

Interesting things

The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is native to North America and has gradually spread southward. Among the Incas, it held symbolic significance and was revered as a representation of the sun. At the end of the 16th century, it was brought to Europe by Spanish explorers.

The sunflower plant grows to a height of one to two meters. Before blooming, its bud tracks the sun from east to west during the day, but once the flower opens, it generally remains facing east.
