Organic Sunflower Oil HO, cold-pressed

Our organic sunflower oil has a light yellow to yellow color and a delicate, characteristic aroma.

To produce organic sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content, we use selected, certified organic sunflower varieties with a naturally high content of monounsaturated oleic acid. Used as a base oil in creams and ointments, organic sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content is valued for the pleasant sensation it imparts to the skin. Sunflower seed oil is also suitable for cosmetic formulations designed for dry and mature skin.

Organic sunflower oil is obtained by cold-pressing the hulled and, sometimes, ground seeds of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus). We also have organic linoleic sunflower oil and refined high-oleic sunflower oil available.

Interesting things

The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is native to North America and has gradually spread southward. Among the Incas, it held symbolic significance and was revered as a representation of the sun. At the end of the 16th century, it was brought to Europe by Spanish explorers.

The sunflower plant grows to a height of one to two meters. Before blooming, its bud tracks the sun from east to west during the day, but once the flower opens, it generally remains facing east.
