Organic shea butter for the cosmetics industry

Our raw organic shea butter has a light beige color and a distinctive scent. Organic shea butter is a versatile cosmetic ingredient, valued for its rich texture and natural content of stearic and oleic acids.

Shea butter is widely used in body butters, rich creams, hand and lip care products, as well as in hair masks and conditioners. Shea butter is also valued as a natural thickening agent in creams and lotions, contributing to their texture and stability.

To produce the butter, the fruits of the shea tree are harvested by hand, and the pulp is removed. The nuts are then dried, shelled, roasted, and ground. The kernels are ground into an oily paste, which is mixed with water and kneaded until the shea butter separates from the remaining solids. The butter is then heated to remove any remaining water, filtered, and packaged. We also have refined shea butter available.

Interesting things

The shea tree is common from West Africa to the Upper Nile region and is a characteristic tree of the savannah woodland. The natural occurrence of the tree is in the southern regions of the Sahel and the northern regions of the Guinea zone. The main producing countries are in West Africa.
