The use of organic canola oil in the cosmetics industry
Our organic canola oil (rapeseed oil) has a light yellow color and a distinctive nutty aroma.
In the cosmetics industry, canola oil is frequently used in formulas designed for dry and rough skin. Thanks to its fatty acid composition (oleic acid and linolenic acid), cold-pressed canola oil is a popular ingredient in skin care products.
Our organic canola (rapeseed) oil is obtained from the small, dark brown seeds of the Canola 00 variety, which is characterized by a very low erucic acid content. The oil is obtained through cold pressing and subsequent filtration. We also offer refined cosmetic canola oil and organic canola oil for food use.
Interesting things
Rapeseed has been cultivated for centuries due to its high oil content. Until the late 1970s, rapeseed oil was used primarily in industrial applications because of its high erucic acid content.
With the development of the „canola 00” variety, which has a low erucic acid content, rapeseed has become an essential crop for both humans and animals. In North America, this variety has become known as „canola”.
