The use of organic camelina oil in the cosmetics industry
Our organic camelina oil has a characteristic color, ranging from yellow to greenish, and a natural aroma. Naturally rich in alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid), organic camelina oil is valued in cosmetic applications for its skin-care qualities. Cold-pressed camelina seed oil absorbs quickly and is particularly suitable for formulas designed for dry and sensitive skin.
Organic camelina oil is commonly used in:
face masks
creams
body lotions
decorative cosmetics
Our organic camelina oil is obtained through gentle cold-pressing of Camelina sativa seeds to preserve the oil’s natural properties. We also offer organic camelina oil for the food industry, as well as refined camelina seed oil.
Interestings things
Camelina is considered an ancient crop, believed to have been used in the diet of the Celts.
The camelina plant is not very demanding and even acts as a natural herbicide. When planted alongside oats or peas, it covers the soil and prevents weeds from growing. The annual plant grows to about half a meter and has small, pale yellow flowers. The hard, pod-like fruits contain 8-16 seeds, each about 5 mm long and containing 30-40% oil.
