Organic Evening Primrose Oil Cold Pressed
The use of Organic Evening Primrose Oil in the cosmetics industry
Organic Evening Primrose Oil is often used in creams, ointments, cosmetic oils, and shampoos to soothe irritated, flaky, and itchy skin and to strengthen the natural skin barrier. The linoleic acid contained in large amounts in Organic Evening Primrose Oil contributes to the skin compatibility of the formulations and is said to make the skin look more vital.
Good to know
Our Organic Evening Primrose Oil is obtained by cold pressing evening primrose seeds followed by filtration.
The Latin epithet “biennis” identifies the evening primrose as a biennial plant, of which in the first year barely more than a basal rosette of 20 to 30 leaves is visible. It only sprouts in the second year. A roughly 150 cm tall, densely leaved stem grows, carrying a hairy, angular, and upper-branched shoot. The flowers are arranged in a raceme, about 3 cm long, candle-shaped, and colored light to golden yellow. The flowering period is from July to September, with the flowers only opening in the evening.
