Organic Mint Oil Dementholized
The main component of the organic mint oil, which is obtained through steam distillation of the flowering herb of field mint, a wild form of mint, is also menthol (30–50%) in the dementholized version. For comparison: in the non-dementholized version, the menthol content is up to 90%. The dementholized organic mint oil is therefore somewhat milder.
In natural medicine, menthol is associated with a liberating effect on the respiratory tract. When applied externally, it is said to have a cooling and pain-relieving effect, making the organic mint oil particularly interesting for sports products or products for tired feet. A cooling compress with the fresh scent of organic mint oil is also said to relieve nausea and headaches.
In cosmetics, organic mint oil is often used as a more affordable alternative to peppermint oil in the perfuming of hair and aftershave products, shower gels, shampoos, or mouthwash. Its antiseptic and refreshing properties are ideal for the care of impure skin and in dental care.
Organic mint oil is generally not used in the preparation of food and beverages. However, it could be considered as a flavoring for drinks such as liqueurs or lemonades.
In aromatherapy, organic mint oil stimulates creativity and revitalizes tired minds.
Organic mint oil blends well with bergamot, orange, petitgrain, rosemary, thyme, ylang-ylang, cinnamon or lemon.
