Organic Safflower Oil High Oleic Cold Pressed

Organic Safflower Oil and its use in the food industry

The Organic Safflower Oil from SanaBio is a healthy edible oil, especially for cold dishes like salads and dips in the food industry. Excessive heating causes bitter substances to develop and valuable ingredients to be lost. Therefore, use our linoleic Organic Safflower Oil for mild dressings, soups, and dips for your food industry products.

What ingredients does Organic Safflower Oil contain?

The original form of the safflower delivers a high content of linoleic acid, hence the name linoleic. Linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that our body can only obtain through food. Due to its high content of over 80 percent, the linoleic Organic Safflower Oil is not heat stable.

We also offer the refined, oleic acid-rich and frying-suitable variant of Organic Safflower Oil Refined.

Interesting facts

The flower color of the safflower (dyer’s safflower) resembles saffron, which explains its nickname false saffron. Earlier, the dyer’s safflower was cultivated to obtain the safflor-red dye carthamin; today it is mainly grown for oil production. Even the Egyptians used the dyeing properties of safflower to color mummy cloths.

The safflower grows quickly up to its final height of up to 1.3 meters. Its leaves are thorny, and its flower looks like a small basket from which up to 150 orange-yellow tubular flowers grow.

The seeds of the safflower, which consist of up to 40 percent fatty oil, are cold pressed to produce safflower oil.
