Organic sesame oil and its use in the food industry
Organic sesame oil enriches the food industry. It adds a special note to every dish. The food industry therefore often uses it for Asian cuisine, whether for salad dressings, fish and meat dishes, or baked goods. Due to its naturally relatively high smoke point, it is suitable for frying steaks. It can also be used for margarine production.
What ingredients does organic sesame oil have?
Organic sesame oil contains, besides unsaturated fatty acids, minerals and trace elements that the body can only absorb through food.
Interesting facts
The history of sesame is long. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks are said to have used the plant. It originally comes from the African tropics but is now mainly cultivated in India, China, and Egypt.
The sesame plant, up to one meter tall, resembles a herbaceous version of the foxglove, as its pink to white flower cups hang downwards. The ripe fruits are brown capsules, 2 to 3 cm long, containing about 80 to 100 yellowish, red, or nearly black seeds.
For the production of sesame oil, the fruit capsules are dried, seeds shaken out and cleaned, then gently cold pressed.
