Customer expectations are changing. Enjoyment with simultaneous nutritional benefit is becoming increasingly important. The unique taste is a true delight in cakes, mueslis, smoothies, overnight oats, yogurts, baked goods or fruit bars.
Our organic wheat germ protein is a fine, beige to light brown powder with a characteristic, intense flavor. Organic wheat germs are partially defatted by either CO2 extraction or mechanical cold pressing, depending on the need. The resulting flakes/press cakes are finely milled.
Interesting facts
Wheat is a 60 to 120 cm tall grass with parallel-veined leaves about 30 cm long and pointed. The wheat kernels (fruits) are golden yellow to brownish, egg-shaped grains that have a longitudinal groove on the inside and a tuft of hair at the tip, the so-called "beard." Inside the kernels is the germ, which contains 7–12% fatty oil.
