Organic Chamomile Oil Blue Recutita
Our organic chamomile essential oil (also known as organic German chamomile oil) has a distinctive blue to blue-green color and a characteristic warm, balsamic aroma. Its unique hue is a natural feature of the oil and contributes to its recognition among essential oil enthusiasts and formulators.
In cosmetic and personal care formulations, chamomile essential oil is appreciated for its gentle fragrance and is commonly incorporated into creams, lotions, soaps, and other skincare products. Its warm, herbaceous scent adds a soothing and natural character to a wide range of formulations.
In aromatherapy and diffusion, chamomile essential oil is valued for its comforting aroma and can be used to create a calm, relaxing, and harmonious atmosphere. It blends well with floral, citrus, herbaceous, and woody essential oils, like organic lavender oil, organic bergamot oil, organic roman chamomile oil or organic cedarwood oil.
The oil is obtained through steam distillation of the flower heads and stems of chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), a plant valued for centuries for its aromatic and botanical qualities.
Interesting things
Unlike most essential oils, German chamomile oil has a blue to blue-green color. This striking hue comes from a compound called chamazulene.
Fresh chamomile flowers do not contain chamazulene. It forms during the steam distillation process from a precursor compound called matricin.
