Organic Pomegranate seed flour for the food industry

Organic pomegranate seed flour is obtained from the seeds of Punica granatum. It is produced through the gentle cold pressing of organic pomegranate seeds. During this process, organic pomegranate seed oil is extracted, and the remaining press cake is finely milled into pomegranate seed flour.

The flour is characterized by its natural fatty acid composition, including punicic acid and linoleic acid, depending on residual oil content. Our pomegranate seed flour is used in various food applications, such as desserts, baked goods, marinades, sauces, and smoothies.

Interesting facts

The pomegranate (Punica granatum) is native to a region extending from modern-day Iran to northern India. Today, it is widely cultivated across the Mediterranean region, West and South Asia, parts of Africa, China, Australia, the southwestern United States, and South America.

Punica granatum prefers hot and dry climates and tolerates relatively poor soil conditions. While it can grow in partial shade, optimal fruit development occurs in full sun.

The pomegranate tree (Punica granatum) grows up to 5 meters tall and is often cultivated as a shrub. It has lance-shaped, leathery leaves and bright red, funnel-shaped flowers about 3 cm in diameter.

The fruit is a round berry with a thick, leathery rind. It contains numerous seeds with a red outer layer at maturity. The seeds make up a small portion of the fruit and contain approximately 12–20% oil.
