Organic Sunflower oil Linoleic and its use in the food industry
Our organic sunflower oil is characterized by a light yellow to yellow color and a delicate, neutral taste.
Thanks to its mild flavor, sunflower oil is widely used in the food industry, for example, in mayonnaise, remoulade, and margarine. It is also suitable for salads, baked goods, and marinades.
This organic sunflower oil contains a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid. Due to its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, cold-pressed linoleic sunflower oil is only suitable to a limited extent for use at high temperatures.
For use at higher temperatures, refined linoleic sunflower oil or sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content is usually recommended. Sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content consists mainly of monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid) and is therefore more heat-stable.
Organic Sunflower oil, linoleic, is obtained from the hulled seeds, which are partially ground and gently cold-pressed to preserve their natural components.
Interesting things
The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is native to North America and has gradually spread southward. Among the Incas, it held symbolic significance and was revered as a representation of the sun. At the end of the 16th century, it was brought to Europe by Spanish explorers.
The sunflower plant grows to a height of one to two meters. Before blooming, its bud tracks the sun from east to west during the day, but once the flower opens, it generally remains facing east.
