Black cumin oil (Egypt), unfiltered, organic, cold-pressed
Our black cumin oil has a strong Mediterranean aroma that goes well with a variety of dishes such as bread, cheese, salad, stews, or sauces.
For example, you can drizzle it over cheese platters, marinate feta cheese with it, or use it as a dip for flatbread. Our organic black cumin oil contains unsaturated fatty acids (Omega-3 and Omega-6), especially linoleic and oleic acids, as well as vitamins.
The distinctive taste of black cumin can also be recognized in baked goods. Our organic black cumin seed flour is suitable for baking due to its unique, characteristic taste.
Obtaining organic black cumin oil cold-pressed
Black cumin seeds contain approximately 35% oil and approximately 2% essential oils, which is why they have such an intense, peppery aroma. By gently cold-pressing the seeds, we obtain aromatic organic black cumin oil.
Interesting facts
Black cumin has been cultivated in Egypt since the time of the pharaohs, where it remains a primary source of high-quality oilseeds to this day. Since then, it has been used and appreciated as a spice and remedy.
The black cumin plant grows to about 30 cm and blooms from June to September with white to violet-blue flowers. During ripening, spherical capsules form that contain small, black seeds, as the name suggests.
