Organic Chia Oil and its use in the food industry
The Organic Chia Oil from SanaBio, sometimes called chia seed oil, has been one of the first so-called superfoods covered in the media for a few years now.
Due to its subtle flavor, you can add an extra portion of superfood to your food industry products without significantly changing the recipe. Convince yourself of the high quality of the Organic Chia Oil and use it for your products in the food industry, such as salad dressings, smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, or soups.
What ingredients does Organic Chia Oil contain?
Organic Chia Oil contains a large proportion of unsaturated fatty acids (similar to organic flaxseed oil).
Interesting facts
The Aztecs cultivated the chia plant as early as 3500 BC. Ironically, the Spaniards banned Spanish sage, as the chia plant was also called, during the colonization of Central America due to its religious use. It survived in certain areas of Mexico, so we can cultivate it commercially again today.
The herbaceous chia plant grows about one to one and a half meters tall and belongs to the mint family. Its small purple flowers resemble lavender.
The tiny gray or brown seeds from the flower of the chia plant are cold pressed to produce organic chia oil.
