Organic Sunflower oil Linoleic, refined, and its use in the food industry
Our organic sunflower oil has a light yellow to yellow color and a mild, neutral taste.
Thanks to its neutral taste, refined linoleic sunflower oil is widely used in the food industry, for example, in mayonnaise, remoulade, margarine, as well as in salads, baked goods, soups, and marinades.
The refining process gives it enhanced heat stability, making it suitable for cooking at moderate to high temperatures, including frying and sautéing. Although cold-pressed linoleic sunflower oil is less suitable for use at high temperatures, the refining process makes it more suitable for cooking and frying.
For very high-temperature applications or deep- frying, sunflower oil with a high oleic acid content is generally recommended. High-oleic sunflower oil consists predominantly of monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid), which make it even more heat-stable.
Organic refined linoleic sunflower oil is obtained from hulled, cold-pressed seeds. The resulting oil is then filtered and refined.
Interesting facts
The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is native to North America and has gradually spread southward. Among the Incas, it held symbolic significance and was revered as a representation of the sun. At the end of the 16th century, it was brought to Europe by Spanish explorers.
The sunflower plant grows to a height of one to two meters. Before blooming, its bud tracks the sun from east to west during the day, but once the flower opens, it generally remains facing east.
