Organic soybean oil and its use in the food industry

Our organic soybean oil is a cold-pressed vegetable oil made from certified organic soybeans. The oil is characterized by a color ranging from light yellow to dark yellow and a mild, neutral taste.

Thanks to its mild, neutral taste, cold-pressed soybean oil is suitable for a wide range of applications, including salad dressings, marinades, baked goods, and the production of margarine and mayonnaise. Its natural lecithin content makes it ideal for use in emulsions.

Depending on formulation and processing, soybean oil can influence product properties, such as the solubility of instant products, as well as viscosity in applications such as chocolate. Soybean oil contributes to texture stability and helps maintain the freshness of baked goods.

Organic soybean oil has a low smoke point, which makes it unsuitable for frying. For high-temperature cooking, refined organic soybean oil is recommended.

Interesting facts

Soybeans (Glycine soja) are native to East Asia (particularly China, Korea, and Japan) and appear to have been cultivated there for several millennia. Today, soybeans are grown worldwide, with the main producing regions being Brazil, the United States, and Argentina.

The plant belongs to the legume family and typically grows to a height of 80–100 cm. It has a hairy stem and small, white-to-purple flowers that develop into pods containing multiple seeds.

After harvesting, the soybeans are threshed to separate the seeds from the pods and then cleaned. Subsequently, they are cold-pressed to produce soybean oil.
